ID8181 High-sensitivity bipolar latching Hall-effect sensor 1. Description The ID8181 is a high-performance, highsensitivity, bipolar latching Hall-effect sensor primarily used for electronic commutation in brushless DC motors. For the TO-92S package, when a sufficiently strong S-pole magnetic field is applied to the marked side of the package, the output goes low (BOP). When a sufficiently strong N-pole magnetic field is applied, the output goes high (BRP). The SOT23-3L package operates inversely to the TO-92S package. When a sufficiently strong N-pole magnetic field is applied to the marked side, the output goes low (BOP), and when a sufficiently strong S-pole magnetic field is applied, the output goes high (BRP). The ID8181 is based on advanced Bi-CMOS technology and incorporates chopperstabilized technology to enhance switching point accuracy and stability. It is available in SOT23-3L and TO-92S packages, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 150°C. 4.
